3D-Printed Resin Composites Show 20% Lower Flexural Strength

An in vitro study published in Dent Mater compared 3D-printed dental resin-based composites with CAD/CAM-milled materials, finding the printed resins had 20% lower flexural strength and 30% greater color change after thermocycling. These results indicate 3D-printed resins may be unsuitable for long-term definitive restorations in load-bearing areas.
