Zaynich antibiotic receives CDSCO and FDA approval
Zaynich, a novel broad‑spectrum antibiotic, was approved by India's CDSCO on 27 May and subsequently by the U.S. FDA, making it the first Indian antibiotic to receive dual approval. It is indicated for acute odontogenic infections such as dental abscesses and periodontal abscesses, typically dosed at 500 mg orally twice daily for 7–10 days. Availability in India is now nationwide, providing dentists with a new first‑line option for resistant bacterial flora and reducing reliance on older agents.
