5- and 10-Year Survival of Tooth- vs Implant-Supported Fixed Dental Prostheses in Posterior Region
A 5- and 10-year prospective cohort compared tooth- and implant-supported fixed dental prostheses (FDPs) in the posterior region. Survival rates exceeded 90% for both groups, with implant-supported FDPs showing a slightly higher complication rate (15% vs 10%). The findings suggest that both options provide durable outcomes, but clinicians should counsel patients on the risk of peri-implant complications.
