On one hand they could be asking patients to place a crown here or a crown there. Not really knowing why one patient said yes and the next said no! On the other hand You’ll begin by doing what you already do well — general family dentistry , supported by an established hygiene department and patients who value their oral health. But as we support your growth and confidence your skills will develop, you’ll have opportunities to expand your clinical scope into what your colleagues are all wishing to do: Crown and bridge dentistry Molar endodontics Implant dentistry Orthodontics Comprehensive restorative dentistry Surgical extractions Full-mouth rehabilitation Airway dentistry, including snoring and sleep apnoea You won't be expected to know everything on day one. The opportunity is to learn. Mentoring that actually happens Mentoring shouldn't mean being told that someone is “available if you need them.” At Lifetime Dental, there is a scheduled weekly meeting to review your cases and work through the things that will make you a better dentist: How could I have diagnosed this better? How could I have presented this treatment differently so I got a yes please? What should I have considered when planning this case? How do I communicate the value of comprehensive treatment to this patient? You'll have the opportunity to observe more advanced procedures, including full-mouth rehabilitation, all on 4 implant cases, implant dentistry, surgical extractions and airway dentistry. The aim isn't simply to teach you more procedures. It's to help you think, diagnose, communicate and treatment-plan at a higher level. Become the dentist patients trust with bigger cases Technical skill is only part of becoming an outstanding dentist. The dentists who build the strongest careers are also exceptional communicators.
