CLINICAL LEAD DENTIST
North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust are looking to recruit a caring and energetic Clinical Lead Dentist to lead our community dental team in Allerdale and Copeland.
You will be leading a friendly, highly skilled workforce, who have the privilege of providing specialist dental care to patients referred to the service, including special care dentistry, conscious sedation, and general dental care under anaesthesia. Other essential services provided include oral health improvement and clinical prevention programmes, involvement in national dental epidemiological surveys and screening programmes and the provision of access to emergency dental care. The service is also an accredited trainer for inhalation sedation practice.
We are looking for a dentist currently working at Senior Dental Officer or Clinical Lead level who has a desire to lead and develop our team delivering clinical excellence in community dental care. You will be working as part of a group of senior clinicians across Cumbria to deliver strong service performance and positive outcomes for service users.
The successful applicant will be based primarily at Cleator Moor Dental Centre, a modern six surgery building with digital radiography, a bariatric surgery and wheelchair tipper.

Main duties of the job
The main role of the post holder will be to support the Dental Service Clinical Director in the effective management and leadership of the Special Care and Community Dental Service, within the Allerdale and Copeland locality. The post holder will be expected to actively support the Clinical Director in developing the strategic direction of the service.
The Clinical Lead will be a highly visible, proactive and accessible clinical leader in their locality, acting as a role model and clinical resource and ensuring the sustained delivery of high standards of clinical care and service delivery, to clinicians, patients and the public
The Clinical Lead will also be expected to undertake clinical duties for up to six sessions per week. An agreed job plan will establish the range and scope of the clinical activity.
The role holder may be required to participate in Out of Hours/On call Arrangements in line with Trust Policy and any local arrangements.
