The Special Care and Community Dental Service (CDS) in Carlisle & Eden is seeking to recruit a compassionate and motivated individual to come and join our existing team of highly skilled clinicians and support staff providing dental care to our patients.
We are looking for a clinician who makes patient care their first priority and who thrives working with a number of different patient groups.  Being able to communicate effectively with both patients and staff is essential as you will be responsible for looking after some of the most vulnerable people in society.
You will be supported to develop skills to deliver the main duties of the post in providing dental care for adult and child patients.  You will enjoy the professional support of highly qualified and experienced colleagues, working within well-equipped modern dental clinics and other healthcare facilities.
Main duties of the job
The main role of the Dental Officer is to provide routine dental care to patients referred to, or accessing the Dental Service. Responsibilities of the role include:
Providing dental care to patients with specific

Requirements
requirements using behavioural techniques, conscious sedation or general anaesthesia if within competencies.
Liaising with a range of social and other health care personnel and agencies to ensure the effective management of and delivery of care to patients with specific requirements.
Involved with the delivery of a domiciliary dental service to patients who may require such service.
Delivering care, as required, in a variety of locations within the defined localities of Carlisle & Eden.
Providing emergency and urgent care identified through the Dental Direct triage process as required
