GDC international registration reforms expand ORE capacity tenfold

The UK General Dental Council (GDC) has implemented amendments to increase flexibility in setting rules and routes to registration for overseas-qualified dental professionals. This legal framework modernizes the registration process, including a planned tenfold increase in capacity for the Overseas Registration Exam (ORE) and the Licence in Dental Surgery (LDS). Indian BDS graduates affected by these changes should prepare for expanded exam slots and potentially revised fees under the new GDC contract with UCL Consultants. Effective from March 2026 onwards.
