GDC expands ORE and LDS capacity for overseas dentists

The UK General Dental Council (GDC) and British Dental Association (BDA) have announced a proposed tenfold increase in capacity for the Licence in Dental Surgery (LDS) pathway, alongside expansion of the Overseas Registration Exam (ORE). This change, effective from March 2026, aims to address the shortage of dentists in the UK and will significantly increase opportunities for Indian BDS graduates seeking GDC registration.
