ADA's 2026 guideline cuts pre-op antibiotics for implant patients

The American Dental Association (ADA) has updated its guidelines for pre-operative antibiotics for patients undergoing dental implant procedures. The new guideline reduces the duration of antibiotic treatment from 24 hours to 12 hours before surgery.
